Holiday Fun!

Georgia had some holiday fun! She finally got to meet her Genma and Johnpa for the very first time, and she had her first series of Christmas parties too! For 2 months old, she did pretty well in the gift department, and even mustered up the energy to get out and do some shopping for her mommy with dad!

Babies, Babies and more Babies!

While in Toronto we also got to visit with our good friends Katie & Chris - who just gave birth to their son Owen David last Saturday!  Owen is sooo cute and sooo small - Georgia was such a big baby when she was born so it was really neat to hold a baby that small.  Katie and Chris are learning what its like to be sleep deprived but are loving every minute of it.  Can't wait to see how much he's grown when they come home for Christmas :)  Our friend Danielle also came to visit with her 6 month old son Ben - Big Ben I like to call him since he was wearing size 24mth clothes?!  The cuteness in that house was off the charts!

This past week we took our first trip to Toronto to visit with Georgia's Aunt Moya, Uncle Keith and Cousin Sarah (her only other girl cousin!).  We had such a great visit and it was so nice seeing Georgia meet more family - she was beyond loved the entire time and she loved them back just as much.  I actually wanted to record Moya's voice because Georgia seemed to love hearing it so much.  Can't wait till our next visit :)

1 Month Old!

On Saturday our little Georgia Peach will officially be one month old! She is still an 'angel' baby and sleeps most of her time away...letting us ease into this parenting thing ;) At her doctors appt this week she weighed 10.2 lbs and is 23 inches long! So she's definitely eating well and growing. We've taken her to the cottage and to Montreal and this week will be heading to Toronto so she's already pretty well travelled for a 1 month old. Here are some pics from the last few weeks.

First 2 weeks!

Well, we've officially been parents for 2 whole weeks and everyone is still alive and well :) We are loving being parents and are having a ball with our little Georgia. We've had a ton of very generous visitors and Georgia is learning very early what it is like to be spoiled - but we're not letting it get to her head ;)

Thanks for everyone that has come by, sent gifts or called to congratulate us! And to all those who still have yet to meet lil' G we look forward to seeing you soon :)

What a surreal experience from top-to-bottom! I'm so proud of Katie for everything she went through yesterday, and as if anyone doubted it, we're both totally in love with our daughter! She's the best and is getting cuter by the minute!!!

Gotta get back to the hospital because I miss them already! Georgia comes home tomorrow (hope she likes her gender-neutral room)!!!!

Day 3- 3:30AM

My beautiful wife is now dilated 9.5cm, so once the contractions look right she's going to get pushing!

It's a rude way to be rousted from your slumber- pushed out of your warm bed through a pretty small opening only to see Aaron Lee looking you in the face! poor little bugger! They'll learn to love me!

Day 2- 9PM

We're in for the night! Baby by tomorrow if all goes well.  Katie has had her water broken and is going to be put on 'the drip' which will force her into labour. She's been absolutely outstanding so far and is going to do very well tonight!

Day 2- 6:00PM

It looks like GO TIME!

Contractions have started and have been going about 3-5 mins apart for about an hour. At the hospital the doctor told us that everything was starting and for us to go for a walk, enjoy a quiet dinner, and do multiple repeats of clap push-ups. Not true about the clap push-ups, but we'll be going back in soon to get the little piker our and find out if it is a he or a she!!!

We both hope this is the real deal... All signs point to parenthood!

Day 2- 3:00PM

Hi Again,

No advancement so far today so we're going back to the hospital shortly to try an alternative method of being induced. With any luck we won't be home again until there are 3 of us! Thanks for all of the calls and messages so far; we're feeling the support!

Induced- Day 2

9am: contractions stopped around 230am and Kate slept well.  I feel as though we've cried wolf a few times already!

As usual, it doesn't seem as though this baby wants to come out so we're just having another nice day at home.

2:00am

Being induced seems to have started working- Katie has been having some contractions for quite a while now and is doing her best to get some sleep. Looks like we might be in for a bit of a restless night!

6:00pm

Home again! Kate was 'induced' and now we're home relaxing waiting for things to happen. Worst case, we'll go back in tomorrow afternoon and they try something new if this doesn't work.

She's doing very well and is just a little uncomfortable right now.  First babies always take longer for pretty well everything, so we're settling in and are going with the flow.

just got into a room and are told that a doctor will see us soon to commence the induction process  not holding our breath, but who knows!

11:45am

still aiting for the DR to come and start the induction process... then we'll probably be sent home to wait for everything to get started for real

Everyone is doing great (and one of the doctors was just in NL and is from Halifax) !

HOLY SMOKES!

Oooooooh yeeeeeeaaah! Just got the call and we're headed to the hospital in 5! I suspect we're in the middle of one of those 'hurry up and wait' scenarios!

Baby? What Baby?

Once again today, no news whatsoever.

We'll be waiting for the call tomorrow for Katie to be induced, and then the fun can finally begin. Lots of visitors this weekend at the Lee household, which has been great.

We're making the most of what's left of our non-parent time: went out for a great meal last night with Mike, Gill, Krissy & Steve, and have a whole lot of nothing planned for today. Kate is doing very, very well, and we've now got our heads around the fact that he/she will make an appearance sometime tomorrow or the next day (if all goes to plan).

D-Day + 1 Week

We had a precautionary ultrasound this morning and came to find out that he or she is doing great but is still not ready to come out...

We did learn that the baby is a real bruiser at 8lbs 8oz already (however she did state that this is often an overestimate), so we'll have a real cutie when he or she decides to leave the 24hour buffet they're at inside of Katie!

Same as yesterday, we're hoping something happens before Monday, otherwise we'll be getting the call for Kate to be induced.

Last Dr's Appointment

Hi everyone,

We just returned from our last appointment before junior makes his or her appearance and all is going well. Things are getting moving slowly and everything seems to be alright. One final ultrasound tomorrow morning, and then if there's no action by Monday... Hello induction!!!

Monday also happens to be my mother-in-law's birthday so if we have a kid on her birthday, do we still have to buy a gift? Seriously...?

1/2 Price Wing Night?

DDay +4

Well, it looks like junior has no intention of showing him/herself anytime soon, so I'm thinking that 1/2 price wing night might be in order at the Clocktower! Maybe we'll turn it into a bender especially if you-know-who doesn't want to meet everybody...

I don't know if babies in utero get reverse psychology, but I'm giving it a shot! Nothing else seems to be working!

Daddy's Got Money On Today!!!

We've got a pool going on baby's arrival date, sex, and weight... I picked today, so come on baby! Daddy needs a new pair of cycling shoes!!!!

We're trying all of the 'sure-fire' ways to get this process started, but as it has been turning out, the only sure thing is that we'll be waiting a bit longer-

Then and Now

Amazing what can get done in the run of 9 months when you set your mind to it! Picture #1 is minutes after Kate told me about our impending arrival, and Picture #2 is baby's room as it looks right now! Hope to meet them soon!

Turkey-Induced Labour?

Not entirely sure, but maybe Junior will decide to make an appearance after Mom drives some dindon into her!

If baby is like Dad, he/she'll be here promtly on the 14th. If on the other hand baby takes after Mom, it's going to be late for sure! Time will tell! Happy Thanksgiving!

5 Days and Counting!

Just 5 days until the due date and we're on the patio enjoying some freakishly warm October weather (27 Celsius) and enjoying out last days as DINKs! Mom-to-be is getting along famously (as always) and Dad-to-be's stress levels are (as of now) in check!
